Bienvenu Byamungu
Founder and team leader


Bienvenu Byamungu is a Deacon the founder and Team leader of Build Church Africa. Bienvenu was born and lived with Christian family where his father was a priest in New Apostolic Church.

Bienvenu was forced to flee his home country Democratic Republic of Congo in 1996 when he was only 6 years old, and crossed the border to Uganda where he stayed  in kyangwali Refugee camp for his whole life until he resettled in Norway in October 2019.

Bienvenu witnessed these extreme human rights violations, many girls and women were raped while boys are forced to be soldiers. Shooting, murder, raping, burning of houses, churches throughout the region forced many to flee, leaving behind everything we owned.
He was separated from his parents and experienced bloodshed before reaching Uganda. running and hiding in bush from rebels, suffering from hunger, diseases. More than 4 million of Bienvenu's friends and countrymen have been killed in his home area, and he was one of the few survivors who reached the refugee camp in Uganda.

In 2007, he founded Planning for Tomorrow (P4T) when he was only 17 years after 10 years in refugee camp when he lost hope of ever returning to his homelands Democratic Republic of Congo. The Organisation that is trying to rebuild hope of refugee and Ugandan with the vision of creating a healthy and self-reliant community that is empowered with knowledge and skills.

Bienvenu is passionate of helping the most vulnerable and creating peace environment for everyone. In Norway, he volunteer with Red Cross Norway in Nordre Follo Kommune to help refugees, immigrate and old people in various activities since 2021.

Bienvenu graduated in Development Studies from Gulu University in Uganda in 2017 and has a professional with 14 years of field experiences in responding to humanitarian crises to conflict-affected underprivileged community in Africa.

 Kugonza Moses
Architect

Kugonza Moses is a 30 years old Ugandan by nationality, a Christian by faith (Anglican
church of Uganda) and holds a diploma in Architecture from Uganda Technical college Lira. He draws, interprets, and do ground research on all kinds of house plans for the past 10 years since 2011. He is the head architect for Build Church Africa, where he has created the church design plan for approval by the Uganda government. In addition he is monitoring and supervising the whole construction prosess.

Moses believes that drawing plans, interpreting, and construction is not only a fundamental part of fulfilling client`s desire but also building a bridge between the strength, cost, and the beauty look of a designed project.

In addition to designing projects, he also shares his skills with other people especial students of St Simon Peter`s Vocational Training Centre in Hoima Uganda where he has been working as an instructor for the past five years to date.

Although he holds a diploma, he also hopes of furthering his studies to bachelor degree in Architecture in the future God willing.

Oris Richard

Oris Richard is an experienced professional with over 10 years of experience in community organizing, leadership, sustainable agriculture, nutrition, Vocational activities and media where he worked as radio presenter with American Refugee Committee (ARC).

Oris is a Christian born in 1983 in Nyaruhange, North Kivu in Zaire and now the Democratic Republic of Congo during the regime of the late dictator Mobutu Sese Seko. At a young age, he witnessed injustices such as the brutality of security forces towards civilians as well as massacres by rebels in his home country of DR Congo. Rebel attached my village killing and burning churches, schools and houses and hundreds of people forced to flee to different countries and I was one of the few surveyors reached in Uganda, Thanks goes to God.
 
Oris has lived in kyangwali Refugee settlement, Uganda as a refugee for over 18 years after fleeing the civil war in the Congo in 1997 that made millions of people killed until he was resettled to Norway on 15, November 2018 and currently live in Haugesund municipality, Norway.
 
Due to problems that affected young people in his refugee camp of Kyangwali such as the lack of access to quality education, he started New hope nursery and primary that is providing quality education to refugee and also founded of Hope Oris Foundation in 2007.

He has worked as assistant nutritionist with Action Africa Help International and African humanitarian action in 2009 and 2010 nursing Assistant at Kyangwali health center III.
