About Build Church Africa

Uganda is the third largest refugee host country in the world and the largest refugee host country in Africa hosting over 1.5 million refugees, which 85% are children and women forced to flee from conflict and war in the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan, Burundi, Somalia, and Rwanda leaving behind their homes, livelihoods, education and churches.

As Christians, it is our calling to help the helpless — to clothe the naked, feed the hungry, give comfort to the oppressed and spread Christianity to disadvantaged communities around the world.

Build Church Africa is faith based organization that was started in 2022 as an NGO for the New Apostolic Church in Uganda, Africa by Deacon Bienvenu Byamungu who was forced to flee his home country in 1996 when he was only 6 years old, and crossed the border into Uganda where he stayed until he resettled in Europe, Norway in October 2019.

In His parable of the Good Samaritan, Jesus Christ made it very clear: helping those in need is a commandment of the gospel and thus a fundamental requirement of Christian ethics. This is a call addressed to every believer and to the Church as a whole.

In Uganda, many of the churches in these countries are in poor condition. By building more churches, we will encourage more Christian to pray, provide bible books for them and provide song books. These churches are also used as a place to learn more about Christianity, and as a safe space for people who wish to convert and need a little guidance.

The obligation to care for the vulnerable and marginalized lies at the heart of Scripture, especially its teaching about the Trinity: the community of love that exists within God himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Together we can support, care and spread the world of God to disadvantaged communities.

There are many Christian around the world who want to strengthen their faith. Some would like to learn the Bible, others would like to pray in church.

Our Mission:

To glorify God by sharing His love with the marginalized community in Uganda by building safe churches, equipping the churches with Bibles, Christian song books, furnitures,  music instruments, and feeding the hungry, empower and build capacity of local ministry to continue spreading the word of God in their own communities.
